The current Covid-19 pandemic is obviously causing widespread tragedies and hardships around the world, including in our own community. Our local Uptown Yonge shops and services have also been severely impacted to the point that many may not be able to survive if this crisis continues much longer. This local marketplace is vital to our community and as such we, as shoppers, should be buying local, whether it’s an essential service with recommended social distancing or online, if available, but supporting these businesses wherever possible. Please consider the livelihoods that are dependent on these shops and services and how fortunate we are to have access to them in our neighbourhood.
